Hace varios años me dedico a la pintura. Mi búsqueda pictórica está cargada de gestos espontáneos, viscerales, sin pensamiento, intento sumergirme en el caos que me proponen las manchas, las salpicaduras y chorreaduras. Esa trama que de a poco voy construyendo empieza a adquirir un sentido, propone recorridos laberínticos, a veces lúdicos, otras tortuosos, donde habitan animales que clasificamos como comestibles (vacas, cerdos, gallinas ó peces) sin entidad, desechos de una sociedad que naturaliza la crueldad al extremo.
Estos territorios hostiles, inquietantes, inestables paradójicamente se cargan de color y a través del juego de la repetición de los ornamentos y el ritmo sumergen al espectador en una experiencia onírica.
Nací en Buenos Aires donde vivo y trabajo actualmente.
Egresé de la escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes Prilidiano Pueyredón, especializándome en Pintura en 1989.
Asistí a talleres de formación en arte con diferentes maestros, entre ellos: Alfredo Portillos, Andrés Guibert, Anibal Carreño, Alicia Romero, Hugo Petruchansky, Elsa Soibelman, Alicia Prego, Vladimir Merchensky, Juan Ian y Paola Brao.
Como siempre me interesaron los diferentes lenguajes artísticos comencé también a incursionar en disciplinas del movimiento (danza contemporánea, danza-teatro, danza afro, contact- improvisation) con maestros como: Roxana Grinstein, Brenda Angiel, Vivian Luz, Carlos Casella, Gustavo Lesgart, Ana Frenkel, Mayra Bonard, Marina Giancaspro, Gaby Gurrieri, Federico Fontán y Keko Barrios, entre otros.
También estudié y trabajé en edición de video y medios electrónicos con Rodolfo Hermida y Miguel Perez, realizando cortos de animación.
En 1993 realicé la Instalación "Son los mismos pero Distintos" junto a Mercedes Curtoni en las Salas Nacionales de Cultura / Palais de Glace donde a través de un proyecto de investigación conjunto llevamos a cabo un montaje de cajas, objetos y una video instalación.
Durante los años '90 mi actividad se expandió hacia el ámbito de la escena teatral y el arte de la performance. Integré el grupo de danza/teatro:"Los Celebrantes", dirigido por Vivian Luz y realicé Objetos Escénicos para sus obras.
En esos años creamos el Grupo Fosa, (junto a Claudio Braier, Cecilia Nazar, Norberto José Martinez, Javier Sobrino, Ada Suarez y Anabel Vanoni) con quienes realicé performances, video-arte e instalaciones.
Entre 1998 y 2007 fui madre tres veces, en esos períodos de partos y crianza, aprendí técnicas de mosaiquismo que apliqué a objetos cotidianos.
Desde el 2008 dirijo Polinomio Eventos, un espacio de eventos y espectáculos.
For many years now I have been devoted to painting. My artistic quest has its origins in spontaneous, visceral strokes of paint, devoid of thoughts. I plunge into the chaos displayed by paint stains, splatter, and dripping, and from that shapeless design I gradually build up a sort of pattern. Little by llittle that pattern starts making sense: it suggests visual paths that can become labyrinths, sometimes playful, sometimes winding, inhabited by animals we classify as edible (cows, pigs, hens, fishes), with no entity, as mere waste of a society which legitimises cruelty to the extreme.
These hostile, unsettling, unstable territories are paradoxically filled with colour; and through a play of repeated ornaments and rhythm, they immerse the spectator into an oneiric experience.
I was born in Buenos Aires, where I live and work.
I graduated in 1989 from Prilidiano Pueyrredón National School of Fine Arts in Painting.
I attended art workshops conducted by various professors and mentors, such as Alfredo Portillos, Andrés Guibert, Anibal Carreño, Alicia Romero, Hugo Petruchansky, Elsa Soibelman, Alicia Prego, Vladimir Merchensky, Juan Ian and Paola Brao.
I have always been interested in different kinds of artistic expression so I also got involved in the disciplines of movement (contemporary dance, dance-theatre, afro dance, contact improvisation, etc.) with notable teachers as Roxana Grinstein, Brenda Angiel, Vivian Luz, Carlos Casella, Gustavo Lesgart, Ana Frenkel, Mayra Bonard, Marina Giancaspro, Gaby Gurrieri, Federico Fontán and Keko Barrios, among others.
I also worked and studied video editing and electronic media with Rodolfo Hermida and Miguel Pérez, and worked in the making of animated short films.
In 1993 I put up the installation Son los mismos pero distintos (They are the same but different) at the National Exhibition Room / Palais de Glace (Buenos Aires) in collaboration with artist Mercedes Curtoni. The exhibition was the result of a joint research project which featured boxes, objects and a video installation.
During the 1990’s my activity expanded into the field of the performing arts and performance art. I was part of the dance-theatre company Los Celebrantes directed by Vivian Luz, and I designed stage props for our plays.
In those years we created Grupo Fosa (with artists Claudio Braier, Cecilia Nazar, Norberto José Martinez, Javier Sobrino, Ada Suarez and Anabel Vanoni). The group’s activity spanned eight years during which we produced video art, performance art, and multimedia installations.
Between 1998 and 2007 I gave birth three times. During those years when I was raising my children, I learnt the ropes of mosaic techniques and design applied to everyday objects.
As from 2008 I run Polinomio Eventos, a venue for shows and events.
